Occasionally, we host knit-alongs featuring patterns, designers, or techniques that we love. Here are some commonly asked questions about knit-alongs:
Q: KAL? What’s a KAL?
A: KAL stands for knit-along. Essentially, a KAL consists of a group of knitters knitting the same pattern at the same time. We choose patterns that we love, that we think our customers will really love too. Typically our KAL projects are at an intermediate level, but each pattern will be at a different skill level.
Q: I’m not a very fast knitter, do I have to keep on a schedule?
A: Nope! Every knitter has their own pace, and there is no need to knit according to a schedule. There is no need to try to be finished at a certain time.
Q: Can I come and knit at the shop?
A: We have two regular shop knitting groups: Sit & Stitch takes place Wednesday mornings from 9:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. We also host Knit Night on Thursdays from 5:30-7:30. Both are free and open for anyone who wants to knit in a fun, casual environment surrounded by other knitters.
While staff is on hand to answer quick questions during our knit groups, was ask that if you need more involved help with a project to please make an appointment. Knitting help appointments are $10 for a half-hour session or $20 for a full hour. You can schedule an appointment by calling the shop at 360-336-5202.
